Block types descriptions

The following table describes the available block types. For information on block orientation, see About slot positions in yard blocks (on page 1). When you are configuring rail transfer zones, see the Prestage Groups (on page 1) tab for additional information

Heap areas specifically for containers that are discharged from a vessel (at quay) or for containers that need to be placed in a specific position (at yard).

Slot-specific area for wheeled chassis.

Slot-specific grounded area for forklifts.

Heap areas carry containers, but not in specific locations.

Container used for bulk material such as grain.

Parallel Buffer

Straddle-type stack block (covering the area parallel to the quay where AGVs wait for orders) that typically has only one column and as many rows as needed.

Transfer Zone - Straddle

A transfer zone serviced by straddle carriers. Straddle transfer zones include grounded slots for direct interchange.

Transfer Zone - Transtainer

A transfer zone specific for transtainer (RTG) or ASC/C-ARMG stack blocks designated for side-loading operations and serviced by internal or external trucks.

A transfer zone serviced by internal or external trucks. Wheeled transfer zones can also be configured for indirect interchange via racks.
